Mark Nichols is homeless, and prides himself on asking for work instead of money. He thinks that the proposed removal of high percentage, single-serving alcoholic beverages in the Missoula downtown area will not reduce what has been referred to as alcohol related crime. “I don’t think it will do a damn bit of good,” he said. “(Homeless people) are gonna go find their liquor and their beer no matter where it is.”

Mickey O’hara and Alex Horner slide to the finish line of the 2018 Grand Traverse race in Crested Butte, Colo. The race, in which skiers travel 40 miles and climb over 6,800 feet, started in the 1990’s. This year, instead of skiing from Crested Butte to Aspen, racers went half-way and turned around - called the Grand Reverse - due to risky weather and snow conditions.
The Coeur d’Alene Police and Fire Departments responded to a rolled car on 3rd street and Garden ave. Thursday afternoon. The stolen car, driven by a 12-year-old boy, hit another car that lost a tire and showed damage on its back bumper. The boy was taken to Kootenai Health Center and the man driving the other car walked away from the incident, though complaining of a hurting back.

Rabbi Berry Nash, his wife Shayna and their daughter Riva (not pictured) moved to Missoula in May to give Missoulians the opportunity to explore their Jewish roots. The Nash family is the first to open a Chabad- an orthodox house dedicated to services and celebrations that is open to everyone. "We don't want to change anyone's views," Berry said. "I want to help people grow in their own way."The Nashes will be opening their home for Rosh Hashona, the Jewish New Year, Wednesday through Friday.
